the speech

Ladies and gentlemen>

Today I want to talk about poverty in Africa.

I would like to start defining what is poverty. Probably my dear audience, have clear definition of poverty, but poverty defined by the dictionary is “The state or condition of having little or no money, goods or means of support”. The focus of this speech is to educate on causes and effects of poverty in Africa and how it can be improved.

Furthermore, what causes poverty?  There are many reasons that causes poverty, in Africa the main reasons are corruption and lack of resources. On one hand corruption is caused by governments that doesn't use the money responsibly and instead use it for themselves. Lack of resources is because Africa is a big bast territory with a lot of minerals and oil, which is extracted by European countries, which have the technology to do it. But, in other places, sadly, there are now resources, even there is lack of drinking water.

Concluding, Africa is a big continent that in the right hands would be a developed one, but corruption and governments that can not manage money, plus, the lack of resources in the continent, makes Africa a known poor place, not considering the rich part of South Africa.
Africans do not have a level of education to know how the rest of the world is, also they can not complain to the government.
